US-headquartered tech firm to create up to 50 jobs with Sunderland expansion

A Chicago-headquartered tech company has taken on four new staff at its Sunderland office and revealed plans to double its headcount in the city over the next 12 months.

Saggezza, based at Sunderland Software Centre, currently employs 50 people but plans to create around 50 new jobs in 2019.

From its US HQ and offices in the UK and India, Saggezza aims to help its global client base unlock the potential of data through targeted customer communications and software services.

Jobs to be made available within the company’s Sunderland team include roles for graduate software developers, java developers, GMC developers and performance testers.

At present, Saggezza said it has 10 immediate vacancies for full-stack java specialists.

Martin Williams, Saggezza’s UK managing director, said: “We are delighted to welcome our new graduates, Sakariya, Connie, Umar and David to the team.

“The company has gone from strength to strength in recent years and 2019 is already shaping up to be a great one for our Sunderland office, with more new faces to add to our team.”

He continued: “We’ve built an enviable portfolio of clients since we opened our Software Centre office five years ago and the ever-growing number of clients and projects on our roster is testament to the fantastic work carried out by our team.

“We are always looking for ambitious and talented people to join us and these latest appointments are a perfect reflection of this. Each person brings something different, new skills and new views, and we’re delighted to have them on board.”

The firm’s latest recruits are Sakariya Madar, from the University of Kent; Umar Mahmood, Newcastle University; Connie Leighton, University of York; and David Hutchinson, Northumbria University.
