She said: “My approach of delivering technical, but commercially-savvy property litigation advice fits perfectly with the firm’s ethos.

“Like Clarion, I am very much client-focussed, ensuring that the legal framework is best applied and deployed to further clients’ needs.

“I’m committed to working with each client to minimise costs and achieving a speedy resolution. I’m really excited to be joining such a renowned property team.”

Clarion’s 19-strong real estate team provides a full range of property expertise from development, investment, asset management, corporate occupier work through to retail, leisure and secured lending.

Claire Foster and Selena Middleton, Glu Recruit

Regional recruitment firm, Glu Recruit has almost doubled the size of its team in a bid to bolster its growth plans for the coming year.

Glu has welcomed two new members of staff to the now five-strong team. Claire Foster joins the team permanently as recruitment co-ordinator, following a successful period in a temporary position, whilst Selena Middleton joins as recruitment administrator.

The new appointments come to support an increasing client base amidst a period of growth for the Sheffield-based agency, which has recently expanded its expertise overseas, assisting international companies with their search for candidates.

Rob Shaw, managing director at Glu Recruit, said: “I am delighted to welcome Claire and Selena to the team.

“They are joining the business at a very exciting time of growth; Glu has recently expanded its services to place candidates overseas and we’re receiving more enquiries each day.

“Both new roles will support Glu’s quickly expanding client base as we continue on our growth trajectory moving forward.

“Claire has been with us in a temporary admin role for the past eight months and she has added so much to the team that we can’t manage without her!”

Richard Brown, Kleinwort Hambros

Kleinwort Hambros, a private bank and wealth manager, has appointed Richard Brown as the head of its Yorkshire office.

In his new role, Richard will be responsible for developing the business and coordinating private banking and wealth management services, including fiduciary, investment, wealth planning and credit solutions for clients in Yorkshire and the surrounding area.

Andrew Hillery, head of UK Private Banking, said: “We are very pleased to announce Richard’s well-deserved promotion to head up our Yorkshire office.

“As we continue to strengthen our business in the region, we are committed to delivering a market leading service to our clients, close to their home or place of work.

“With his strong track record and experience in the private banking industry, we are confident that he will help to drive our business forward. It also demonstrates our recognition and support for promoting internal talent.”

Richard Buckley and Sophie Arrowsmith, Lupton Fawcett

Lupton Fawcett has recruited two family law specialists to cater for the growing number of divorce and family related clients seeking help from the regional law firm.

Richard Buckley, who will be based in the Sheffield office, is accredited by the Law Society as an expert in Family Law, advising on issues including divorce, financial proceedings and a wide range of children’s matters.

He is also an accredited family mediator and collaborative lawyer, enabling him to assist couples to resolve issues in a cost effective and amicable way, without the need for court proceedings.

Sophie Arrowsmith, who will operate from the Leeds office, has specialised exclusively in practising family law, advising and handling cohabitation disputes, divorce proceedings, financial disputes and settlements, as well as a broad spectrum of children’s issues.

Sophie will also deal with more complex children’s matters, such as removal from jurisdiction and international child abduction, working in conjunction with the international Child Abduction and Contact Unit in London.

Chris Burns, the head of the family law department within Lupton Fawcett, said: “Although there is a spike at this time of year, we have experienced a growing number of divorce cases and family disputes with clients seeking our advice and help across the last 12 months.

“It is a great reflection on the advice we give, and the way we handle matters, that many new cases come through recommendations from former clients.”

He has worked for various aluminium window and door specialists in the UK and overseas - in both technical and commercial roles.

Before joining Dortech, he was most recently a project consultant with aluminium glazing manufacturer Technal, where he collaborated with architects throughout the country to support their innovative use of glass products.

Dortech Group’s managing director, James Sutherland, said: “The construction industry is currently feeling extremely fragile and cautious, amidst economic uncertainty, which is something nobody wants to see.

“However, we have a strong forward order book in our maintenance department, as clients are increasingly recognising the economic and environmental benefits of refurbishments, repairs and routine servicing.

“Jack’s specialist glazing knowledge and his relationships throughout the industry will hopefully enable us to further penetrate the national market.”
