Gateshead IT business to ramp up graduate development as turnover nears £2m

Synergi Software is expanding its graduate development programme and growing geographically with new funding.

The Gateshead-based company has secured a slice of the £500m Northern Powerhouse Growth Fund, via Barclays, and expects revenues to pass £2m for the first time this year.

Founded in 2013, Synergi is run by Peter Joynson and Justin Short.

It employs a team of 24 and offers digital transformation and cloud security services through Office 365, Sharepoint, Nintex, Azure, Dynamics 365 and other cloud technologies.

Director Peter said: “We’ve been growing the business organically over the last five years and we felt the time was right to invest in the business to take it to the next level.

“We’re delighted to be able to benefit from the Barclays Northern Powerhouse fund and the flexibility of the fund means that we have been able to further expand our graduate development programme and expand both the physical and geographical footprint of the business.”

He added: “This enables us to digitally transform a wider client base, nationally.”

Barclays business manager Michael Watson, who put together the funding package for Synergi, commented: “At Barclays we’re delighted to be able to help businesses grow and expand and the Northern Powerhouse fund is the perfect vehicle for businesses that are looking for new opportunities and require flexible funding options.

“The team at Synergi really impressed me with their professionalism, vast background experience in the sector and most importantly, their modern approach in the industry. With Barclays backing the future looks bright for this well managed company.”
