Merthyr shopping centre launches school art competition
St Tydfil Shopping Centre is delighted to launch a brand-new primary school art competition inviting children to create a picture of something they enjoy about the local area, or something they enjoy doing.
Whether it’s a picture of them spending time with their family, having fun at the park, or of a beloved pet, St Tydfil Shopping Centre would like to see it. The pieces of art can be drawn, painted, or created from glue, glitter and any arts and crafts materials – the only limit is the child’s imagination.
From all the pictures sent in to the competition, a selection from different schools will be uploaded to the shopping centre’s Facebook page and the local community asked to vote for their favourite. The winning school will receive a £50 voucher to spend at The Works so they can add to their arts and craft supplies.
Lee Simmonds, Centre Manager at St Tydfil Shopping centre, commented:
“Children have such great imaginations and we look forward to seeing the artwork that is created. As well as adding the finalists to our Facebook page, we will be displaying some of the art in the centre so it can be viewed by the Merthyr community. Good luck to all that enter.”
All artwork must be submitted on A4 paper and have the pupil’s name and their school written on the back. Entries can be sent to St Tydfil Shopping Centre or dropped in to the Centre Management office. The deadline for submitting entries is Friday 15th March.
