Over 200 new homes in pipeline for Lord’s Cricket Ground neighbouring site
Planning permission has been sought for a new residential development on the Dora House site near Lord’s Cricket Ground in St John’s Wood.
Developer Regal London has submitted a planning application for two new buildings, a 12 storey private apartment block and a 55+ accommodation complex, to be built on the site.
If plans are successful, Dora House will be demolished to make way for 112 private apartments, as well as 170 homes for people aged 55 and over on behalf of Central and Cecil Housing Trust (C&C).
The development comes following the existing sheltered housing being deemed ‘no longer fit for purpose’, with existing Dora House tenants to be relocated to alternative temporary C&C accommodation while construction takes place and given priority to return upon completion.
Paul Eden, joint CEO of Regal London, commented: “St John’s Wood remains a primary area of activity for Regal London, a neighbourhood that we know has the necessary infrastructure and desired amenities to support a thriving community.
“With characterful, traditional architecture and a number of green spaces in the surrounding area, these new homes will provide a sought-after proposition for young professionals, downsizers and families alike.”
