Middlesbrough floristry business blooms in Dundas Market

A new florist has become the latest independent business to rent one of Dundas Market’s dedicated enterprise units in Middlesbrough.

Christine Fearon chose a retail unit in the town centre’s Dundas Market as the base for her new business, Made With Love.

Prior to pursuing her passion for floristry, Christine worked in the criminal justice system for 15 years, before working as a tutor helping the long-term unemployed gain qualifications.

After helping a friend at nearby Stockton Market, Christine decided to set up her own business: “The opportunity came up for a florist in the Dundas indoor market. I know Dundas, I’m from Middlesbrough, I know the whole town centre – and I just thought, I’m going to go for it.”

With more than 20 local independent businesses currently trading at the market, Dundas aims to support and encourage enterprise by offering units with discounted rents and short term tenancy agreements during initial operating periods.

Talking about Dundas Market’s enterprise units, Christine said: “They’re absolutely fantastic. They are a great opportunity for anybody starting out. You can start small and then you can expand.”
