Re-brand and cash boost for leading Sussex accountancy firm
Hilton Sharp & Clarke, the leading Sussex accountancy practice with multiple offices across the county has re-branded as Galloways.
A new owner made a significant investment alongside existing partners last summer to enable the firm to become the fastest-growing and largest accountancy firm in the county.
The investment comes from Sussex’s newest private investment business – Cow Corner – which focuses on long-term investments to build strong, profitable, local businesses.
Sue Smith, one of the longest serving partners at Galloways, said: “This investment signals an exciting time for us at Galloways as we look to grow the firm and continue to build on nearly 150 years of experience.
“We pride ourselves on helping our clients manage their financial affairs, many of whom we’ve been looking after for several generations. We are confident that this long-term commitment to the business will support our growth for years to come.”
Matthew Rourke, founder and chairman of Cow Corner Investments said: “Having grown up in Shoreham, I’ve always wanted to come back to my roots and so investing in Sussex’s leading accountancy firm was a no-brainer. At Cow Corner, we like to invest alongside people, in partnership with existing management teams that know the business inside out.
“With rapid expansion plans for Galloways in the pipeline, I’m looking forward to seeing the business go from strength to strength over the coming years.”
Matthew Rourke founded Cow Corner in 2018 having worked in London for more than 25 years. Previously he was the Managing Partner of HgCapital, one of Europe’s largest and most successful private equity investment businesses.
