Developer acquires five sites with £45m GDV despite Brexit uncertainty

Property developer The Malins Group has acquired five sites for redevelopment across London and Surrey despite Brexit uncertainty causing a dip in the housing market.

The group’s newly purchased sites worth £45m GDV include the former Epsom Police station, the adjoining NHS ambulance station and a 15,000 sq ft police married quarters in Greenwich.

The Epsom police station and ambulance station will be transformed into residential buildings, and a warehouse style complex consisting of 29 one, two and three bedroom apartments at the Greenwich site have been approved.

Lauren Atkins, managing director of The Malins Group, explained: “We have bought these sites despite Brexit uncertainties. In fact, we are seeing real opportunities in the market as a result of others holding back and taking a wait and see stance.”

Other sites acquired include mixed use 11,500 sq ft site Baileys House in Wokingham and the Carisbrooke Centre in Gosport, another mixed use site comprising 30,000 sq ft.
