Oak Intranet has acquired the first floor of Harrison House in Durham city centre as part of ongoing expansion.

Cloud-based intranet specialist expands North East operations

Oak Intranet has acquired a central site in Durham for the launch of its second office in the region.

Launched in 2015, the firm specialises in its self-developed out-of-the-box cloud-based intranet system for employers and businesses.

Following support from economic development organisation Business Durham, including access to £700k of investment and introduction to local commercial property firm Naylors, the intranet specialist has acquired the first floor of Harrison House in Durham city centre.

Jessica Ross, associate director in Naylors’ office agency department, commented: “We’re grateful to have been able to assist Oak Intranet establish their new office within such an amazing building, and to Business Durham for helping us to connect in the first place.”

Due to officially open in the summer, the 1,935 sq ft space will serve as a training facility for Oak Intranet’s 55-strong team, and is the company’s second base in the region after its Gateshead office.

Oak Intranet finance director Neville Bearpark added: “Harrison House delivers the versatility and functionality we need to help our plans take shape.

“It is close to Durham train station, the A1, and the A690, and Jessica and her team couldn’t have been more helpful in supporting us throughout the process. We can’t wait to move in.”
