County Durham estate agent celebrates growth after just six months trading
A County Durham estate agency has reported a huge demand in properties as it marks its first six months of trading with a high volume of work.
Independent Crook-based estate agency Vickers & Barrass has seen a bounce in property activity and enjoyed its strongest month of trading.
The firm, which opened in South Street in September 2018, is reporting a surge in buyers, and the number of agreed sales is continuing to increase, with calls for more stock to meet demand.
VIckers & Barrass it is seeing the volume of local lettings steadily increase across Crook, Weardale and Bishop Auckland, while looking for more properties to let.
New work has also boosted workforce numbers, with the firm currently employing two specialists, Edward Forster and Helen Jardine, providing a range of residential sales and lettings services.
Edward Forster, property sales manager at Crook, said: “We’re busier than ever, and strongly involved in the region’s property market, which is encouraging as well as driving growth.
“Despite uncertainties and the dark, cold winter months, the housing market has been hot for us in recent months. Business is on the rise, but more importantly the local housing market is buoyant.
“Since we opened, we have seen more than average level of enquiries and leads for the time of the year. We certainly don’t see any reason why the rest of 2019 shouldn’t see us continue to build on a great start.”
