ITL Supports Apprenticeships and Opportunities for Young People

ITL North East Limited, a Gateshead based interpretation company specialising in providing a comprehensive range of interpreting and translation services for over 250 languages, has expanded its team by employing additional staff and actively supporting the Apprentice Scheme.

ITL has already been awarded first place on the NEPO Framework for Interpreting & Translation services and as a result, it is currently the contracted supplier of language services for seven local authorities throughout the region.

Constantly growing from strength to strength, ITL has experienced a stark demand for its services, meaning it is now in a position to take on two apprentices to work at its Gateshead office.

Grace Tia Bon Bon, Managing Director, said: “As a result of increased business, we have been working closely with a number of apprentice providers to offer work opportunities to young people who have shown an interest in working with diverse clients in a multicultural community.

“We believe that apprenticeships are vital to the future of skills and employment in the North East, which is why we are taking on apprentices to accommodate increased workloads and opportunities in the light of our new contracts. This is a fantastic opportunity for driven, ambitious and talented individuals who want to join a hardworking and successful team.”

Chloe Isle, an ITL apprentice is already excelling within her role, reinforcing the importance of apprentices and the part they play in providing young people with the skills, knowledge and expertise they require to excel in their chosen career path.

Chloe said: “ITL supported me during my NVQ Level 2 Qualification in Business Administration through the apprenticeship scheme. I have now attained my qualification and continue to work with ITL while I complete my Level 3 course.

“The company helped me through each stage of the program and really care about providing employment and opportunities for young people. They provide excellent training and encouraged me to progress within the business industry.”

To support its recruitment efforts, ITL is planning on visiting several local schools and colleges to provide more information about the many benefits and opportunities that come hand in hand with pursuing a career in modern languages.

Jack Bell, studying AAT Booking Keeping at ITL said: “I struggled to find work after leaving school and so was delighted when ITL agreed to support me through the apprenticeship program.”

Providing language-based services on a national basis, ITL’s head office is based in Gateshead, however the company also has branches in Islington and London.

Grace added: “As there are only a limited number of qualified linguists in the North East we are invested in getting young people interested in languages by discussing with them the potential career progression within the industry.

“And as well as taking on new apprentices, we are also looking at appointing a number of administrators to help us with increased workloads. So if you would like to join our ever expanding team, please do not hesitate to get in touch.”

Signalling further growth opportunities in the North East, ITL is committed to offering interpretation and translation services to companies across the region whilst promoting social values, increasing local skills and providing development opportunities.
