Home of Newcastle United gets South Asian flavour with new partnership
South Asian events specialist Monsoon Venue Group (MVG) has partnered with facilities management group Sodexo to manage specialist catered events at Newcastle’s St. James’ Park.
The home of Newcastle United Football Club, St.James’ Park attracted the attention of the Midlands-based events business for its range of event spaces and facilities.
MVG Managing director Pav Shergill said: “We have decided to focus on the North East of England as we are seeing a growing demand for South Asian events in areas such as Newcastle upon Tyne, Middlesbrough and Sunderland.
“St. James’ Park not only has the capacity to facilitate large South Asian events but is positioned in a great location with all the relevant amenities our clients look for in a venue. We know from our experience that the venue will be highly sought after, and we are looking forward to working with the team at Sodexo to drive the Asian events business.”
The partnership with Sodexo and St. James Park marks the beginning of MVG’s expansion plans to grow the brand nationally.
Chris Reed, head of operations at Sodexo, added: “We are delighted to be the chosen venue for South Asian weddings and events in Newcastle upon Tyne and we look forward to working in partnership with Monsoon Venue Group, ensuring we deliver an outstanding experience for all types of Asian occasions.”
