Byron toasts new role at Gisborough Hall

Gisborough Hall has appointed a new manager to its food and beverage team. Byron Edwards has been promoted to food and beverage operations manager.

Byron, from Marton near Middlesbrough, has worked at Gisborough Hall for nearly eight years, starting as a member of the bar team.

Byron said: “I am over the moon to have been promoted to this prestigious role- I have worked hard over the years to get here. I have been trained and mentored by some of the best in the business and I am now looking forward to leading an enthusiastic team as we make some exciting changes to our food and beverage offering.”

Ruairidh Taylor, hotel manager, said: “We’re passionate about promoting people within our team and continued staff development. For our sector, we have a relatively low staff turnover because we do offer a valued career path. Byron knows the hotel and its guests exceptionally well and will excel in his new role.”

Gisborough Hall was recently singled out as one of the best hotels in the world by Bookings.com, a global leader in hotel booking sites. The 4* hotel won a Guest Review Award, which recognises properties for their exceptional hospitality based on average visitor scores. Gisborough averaged 9/10 – one of the highest available. Gisborough Hall was one of the only hotels in North Yorkshire and Teesside to receive the accolade.

Gisborough Hall became a fully-independent and self-managed hotel in April 2017 and employs over 100 local people across the hotel, in its restaurants, bars and Revival Zone.

A recent AA inspection rated Gisborough Hall as one of the top destinations in the North East and North Yorkshire, retaining its AA’s four ‘Silver Star’ rating for its overall quality. The silver stars mark Gisborough Hall as being of superior quality and are one of the highest hotel accolades available in the UK.
