Guy Barr, Gordon Brown Law Firm LLP (GBLF)
Gordon Brown Law Firm LLP (GBLF) has promoted associate solicitor Guy Barr to partner.
Joining the team in October 2017, Guy has experience in litigation, particularly within the field of professional negligence, and has spent his time at the firm providing advice around disputes, risks and wider commercial issues.
Guy’s new role will see him taking on more managerial responsibilities and being a driving force behind the firm’s growth strategy.
Commenting on his promotion, Guy said: “I’ve had a fascinating journey at GBLF so far and I’m absolutely thrilled to have been promoted to partner. My new role will see me take on a more managerial position and I will work with the team to continue to service the needs of our clients.

Michael Brodie, NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA)
NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) has appointed Michael Brodie as its new chief executive officer.
Currently finance and commercial director at Public Health England, Michael will take over from current NHSBSA CEO Alistair McDonald upon his retirement this summer.
With experience at board level and across the public service, Michael held the role of finance director at the NHSBSA before taking up his current post at Public Health England in April 2013.

Victoria Bell, Aura
Construction consultancy Aura has appointed Victoria Bell as bid and business coordinator.
Joining from SES Engineering Services, Victoria has specialist experience in the creation of winning bids for building services and infrastructure projects.
Victoria’s new role will see her support business development, quality management and marketing.

Iain Hudson and William Turnbull, Cushman & Wakefield
Real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield has announced two promotions at its Newcastle office.
Iain Hudson and William Turnbull, both from the project & development services team, have been promoted to partner and senior surveyor.
Iain has been with the business since 2000, with William joining in 2017. They have both been involved in numerous office refurbishment schemes, such as the recently completed fit-out of Home Group’s head office.
David Wilson, head of Cushman & Wakefield’s Newcastle office, said: “I am delighted to announce Iain and Will’s well-deserved promotions.

Andrew Cawkwell, Tier One Capital
Wealth management firm Tier One Capital has appointed business lawyer Andrew Cawkwell as an independent member of its credit committee.
A dual qualified restructuring solicitor and certified turnaround professional, Andrew brings his legal experience to the Tier One Capital team, having led Newtons Solicitors’ Durham office and previously served as a partner at law firm Muckle LLP in Newcastle.
Commenting on the appointment, Andrew said: “I’m delighted to be joining the Tier One Capital team and look forward to contributing to their continued success as one of the region’s leading wealth management companies.

Claire Long, Muckle LLP
Law firm Muckle LLP has announced the appointment of Claire Long as finance director.
Claire joins the team from multinational consumer goods firm Procter & Gamble where she was an associate finance director. In her new role, Claire will support Muckle LLP’s continued focus on efficiency, service and strategic growth.
Speaking about her new appointment, Claire said: “I am absolutely delighted to join Muckle at such an exciting time in its growth.
