Coastal North Yorkshire site snapped up by housing developer
National homebuilder Keepmoat Homes has acquired a site near the seaside town of Scarborough and submitted plans for a residential development.
The housing developer has submitted an application to Scarborough Borough Council to transform the site, on Field Lane in Scalby, into a residential complex.
Plans for the site include the creation of 151 two, three and four bedroom homes for both private sale and affordable housing, as well as the provision of public open space, a children’s play area and pedestrian connectivity.
If successful in obtaining planning permission, Keepmoat Homes intends to commence work by the end of 2019.
Dan Crew, regional managing director at Keepmoat Homes, commented: “We’re delighted to have exchanged contracts on this site in Scalby.
“This site is part of a concerted effort from the business to grow our presence within the Scarborough market, where we have previously delivered 200 new houses on our Capella development.
He added: “We have submitted a planning application to the council and hope to start delivering new homes on the site later this year.”
