Family Business Celebrates Long Service
Family-owned Swansway Motor Group was founded in 2003 and since then the business has been celebrating long service team members.
This year was the first year the business was able to celebrate team members who’d been with the business for 15 years, as director, David Smyth explained, “We give silver pins to team members who complete 5-years’ service and gold pins for those who’ve been with us 10 years; this year we’re celebrating 15-years’ service with a new diamond pin and we were delighted to be able to award 31 diamond pins”.
The business, which is based in Crewe, now employs 1,300 people, representing fifteen brands from 20 locations, stretching from Birmingham in the south to Carlisle in the north. David added, “Back in 2003 we had just 5 dealerships representing three brands, now we’re one of the top 5 privately owned motor groups in the UK and our Swansway family teams are the reason why. That’s why we celebrate long service every year, thanking everyone who’s made such a great contribution to our business”.
Over a hundred Swansway team members were awarded long service pins, by Chairman and founder, Michael Smyth, at the event, which took place at Rookery Hall in Nantwich.
