Simpson Millar Appoints New Head of Child Protection in London

Leading national law firm Simpson Millar has further strengthened its London based Public Law team with the promotion of Charlenne Ugochukwu to Head of Child Protection.

The move comes amidst rapid expansion plans across the firm’s three core divisions – Private Practice Area, Medical Negligence and Personal Injury, as well as Public Law – and forms part of its £50m growth strategy which includes significant investment in its people, technology and marketing.

Heading up the growth of London-based Child Protection team, Charlenne has nearly a decade of experience specialising in child protection and family law matters, including care proceedings, applications for Emergency Protection Orders, Special Guardianship Order proceedings and adoption proceedings.

She first joined the Simpson Millar team in 2016, from Duncan Lewis Solicitors, and is also a member of the Law Society Children Law Accreditation Scheme (Children Panel), and a member of Resolution.

Commenting on her promotion Charlenne said she was ‘proud and excited’ to be heading up a team of lawyers who were ‘dedicated and determined to do the best for their clients’.

She went on to say that she was looking forward to delivering on the firm’s commitment to its new ‘Open’ proposition, which it announced earlier this year and is dedicated to ensuring that people can access the legal help and support they need in a clear and transparent way.
