Global aviation group to join forces with Gatwick firm in new acquisition

Multipurpose aviation firm Avia Solutions Group has entered into an agreement to acquire aircraft charter company Chapman Freeborn Group.

The deal, which will see Avia Solutions Group take 100 per cent of the shareholding in the Gatwick-based firm, will allow it to maintain its existing product portfolio and continue to operate under the group’s existing brands.

Established in 1973, Chapman Freeborn operates across North America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia, under subsidiaries such as Chapman Freeborn Airchartering, Chapman Freeborn OBC, Intradco Cargo Services, Logik Logistics, Magma Aviation, and Wings 24.

The firm specialising in the lease and charter of aircraft, providing freight and passenger services to clients across a range of sectors including freight forwarders, multinational corporations, governments and humanitarian agencies.

The acquisition is expected to be completed by Q3 2019, after which Avia Solutions Group will own 66 companies in 26 countries around the world.
