Centrica faces a challenging future with 700 jobs to be cut
Centrica - British Gas owner - is planning to cut around 700 managerial and office jobs under its newly announced scale backs.
Centrica explained that staff have been notified of the cuts, which were part of the “ongoing transformation” the company is said to be going through.
Announced in 2018, Centrica said it would sadly be rid of 4,000 jobs by 2020. In February 2019, the company revealed its need of saving £1.25bn by the new decade.
Around 65 per cent of that number would be in operating costs. Around £350m would come from the British Gas consumer division.
Centrica has seen a 17 per cent fall in the group, prompting it to disclose the future job cuts.
