Energy Firm Launches Free Health Checks For Staff

BOLTON firm Love Energy Savings has launched free health checks for staff in a bid to protect worker wellbeing.

The energy price comparison expert already provides complimentary yoga and gym sessions for its 240-strong army of employees.

They are now linking up with JD Gyms to offer 15-minute checks that measure Body Mass Index (BMI), blood pressure and visceral fat – as well as a free personal training appointments.

Mike Edwards, Head of People and Compliance at Love Energy Savings, said: “We have always put our staff at the forefront of our business as without their efforts and commitment we couldn’t function as a company.

“I’m delighted to say the free health checks have proved very popular with our team – there was a waiting list for people to sign up.

“It’s great to see our staff members being so enthusiastic about looking after themselves and investing in their health and wellbeing.”

Love Energy Savings is well-known for its commitment to workplace harmony. It also provides free fruit and has its own on-site gymnasium.

Another fitness offering to staff is free weekly after-work sessions at JustFit, which is located just 200 metres from the LES headquarters on Manchester Road, Bolton.

These High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workouts include cardio and strength training using unusual apparatus such as a weight sled.

Figures released last year by Public Health England revealed that one in four UK employees has a physical health condition, while one in eight reported having a mental health issue.

Mike added: “A healthy workplace is a happy workplace and we see it as vital for the mental wellbeing of our staff that they have the opportunity to take part in these sessions.”

Love Energy Savings is also celebrating passing the landmark of 9,000 reviews on leading customer ratings website Trustpilot.

It has a five-star ranking and a TrustScore of 9.3 out of 10.
