New £1.6m Yorkshire warehouse facility set to boost shipping firm's growth
A £1.6m warehouse and office development in Yorkshire has been completed by contractor Britcon (UK) Ltd.
The civil engineering specialist has completed works on the Viking Shipping Services HQ site at Selby, and has handed it over to the firm.
Comprising 12,000 sq ft of warehouse space and 4,500 sq ft offices, the finished site will support the Viking Shipping Services’ plans to expand into new and existing markets.
Matt Harker, regional manager at Britcon said, “We are delighted to complete and handover this interesting project to Viking Shipping.
“Construction works on live operational sites bring added challenges but the project team worked around this with acute planning, coordination and communication to ensure continuity of business for the client and a safe working environment for all involved. We are very pleased with the end result”.
Graeme Pickering, director at Viking Shipping Services added: “The challenge on this project for both Britcon and Viking was to complete the project during our operation hours and, whilst at times there were pinch points, the teams worked together to achieve the right result.
“We are extremely pleased with the outcome. Matt and his team have been an absolute pleasure to deal with and nothing was too much trouble for them.”
