North East solicitors can't wait to be "herd"...
A LEADING North East firm of solicitors have set themselves a mammoth task – after signing up to sponsor an elephant in this year’s Elmer’s Great North Parade.
EMG Solicitors based at Abbeywoods Business Park, Durham is already a strong supporter of St Oswald’s Hospice, having bought Spocky the snowdog following the first trail in 2016.
And now, rather than wait until the auction to buy a companion for Spocky, they have signed up for a community Elmer, a top sponsorship package which allows them to keep their elephant at the end of the trail in November.
Although the design is firmly under wraps until the trail opens on 21 August, EMG Solicitors have chosen Summer Flowers, produced by artist Emily Ward from North Shields.
Around 50 elephants – all with unique designs – will be in prime locations across Tyne and Wear during the trail before going to auction to raise funds for Newcastle-based St Oswald’s Hospice.
Emma Gaudern, Managing Director of EMG Solicitors, said the firm was delighted to be part of the trail from the earliest stages.
“Last time round I was absolutely amazed by the snowdogs and I knew we just had to have one,” she said.
“It was important to us to be involved much earlier for the new trail, not just to support a fantastic cause and an event which gives a massive boost in terms of visitors to the region, but because of what Elmer stands for.
“Elmer applauds diversity and inclusivity and that sits at the heart of what we do.” Jane Hogan, Elmer’s Great North Parade project lead added: “We are delighted that EMG Solicitors has become one of our corporate sponsors of Elmer’s Great North Parade and that they have already secured their Elmer so that he will be part of the family at the end of the trail.
“He will also be great company for Spocky, their snowdog which EMG Solicitors bought last time round.”
EMG Solicitors was set up by Emma Gaudern in 2014, working mainly in Court of Protection, deputyships and wills, trusts and probate.
