Legal and financial specialist makes first acquisition
A Yorkshire-based legal and financial specialist has made its first acquisition as part of its ongoing growth.
Sheffield firm SSB Group has announced it has acquired Bedfordshire-based Legacy Protection Limited as part of its expansion plans.
As part of the deal, Legacy Protection Limited founder Paul Crowther, former owner of medical agency Mobile Doctors, will take the position of managing director of SSB Compliance Ltd, the regulatory advice and compliance arm of the group.
SSB Compliance Limited offers a range of compliance support services to solicitors firms of all sizes, assisting them in dealing with their professional obligations under the SRA Code of Conduct.
In addition, the compliance division offers services to financial and insurance businesses, auditing law firms to ensure compliance and performance.
On joining the group, Paul Crowther, said: “I have worked for SSB Compliance for a short while now so that we could get to know each other. I was, and continue to be, incredibly impressed with the whole team so, when the opportunity presented itself to work with them in a full-time capacity, I didn’t hesitate.
“Building the SSB Compliance business to become an essential partner for modern law firms is an incredibly exciting opportunity.”
Group CEO Jeremy Brooke added: “I have known Paul for almost 20 years, and I am delighted to have him on board as he has a wealth of experience at senior level.
“The acquisition of Legacy Protection now gives us a platform to further develop our will writing business.”
