Marrons Planning set for growth with two strategic hires

Marrons Planning, a specialist town and country planning consultancy, part of law firm Shakespeare Martineau, has made two senior appointments across its Leicester and Nottingham teams.

David Pendle has joined the Nottingham office as an associate director and Sachin Parmar joins the team in Leicester as a senior planner.

The new recruits are part of the ongoing growth of Marrons Planning as the business continues focused on investing in its people across the firm’s offices. The firm provides advice and guidance on a wide range of planning and development issues, including the preparation of planning applications, environmental statements, strategic land promotion, contentious planning matters and general planning consultancy.

Joining the six-strong Marrons Planning team in Nottingham, David Pendle has over 20 years’ experience in planning, holding senior positions at Charnwood Borough Council. Over the course of his career, David has been heavily involved in the preparation and adoption of the Charnwood local plan and has worked with many other neighbouring East Midlands local authorities in the creation of their own plans.

The Leicester office has also hired Sachin Parmar as senior planner to help meet the continued appetite in the market for guidance around planning and development issues. Sachin will be part of a growing team of six town planners based in the Leicester Colton Square office, providing strategic planning advice to landowners and developers across the East Midlands and the UK.

David Prichard, partner at Marrons Planning, said of the appointments:

“David and Sachin will be real assets, not only to their respective teams but, to Marrons Planning as a whole.

“Nurturing a strong and skilled team across all of our offices forms part of the foundations for our growth plans. Having our new colleagues join us will allow us to continue providing clients with high quality advice, guiding them through the complex and ever-changing planning system, as well as allowing us to capitalise on new business opportunities.

“Planning and development is at the forefront of the minds of many across the UK. A general push to deliver more homes, combined with growing areas of commercial development means that planning expertise is highly valued in both the public and private sectors.

“Building on the work already being undertaken at Marrons Planning, our new hires will soon make their mark on the business and begin working towards building excellent client relationships. We’re looking forward to having them on board and watching them thrive.”
