Two new appointments strengthen design team at Scotts of Thrapston

A Thrapston-based joinery specialist has consolidated its design team with new appointments. Scotts of Thrapston has taken on two experts to strengthen the department, particularly for the timber buildings side of the business. Design Technician and Draughtsperson Elvi Devolli and Timber Frame Designer Joe Roberts are now working alongside Scotts’ Design Manager Bryn Lee. They each bring with them extensive experience of working with timber. Bryn said: “We are delighted to welcome Elvi and Joe as they really strengthen and consolidate the team as each has a great skill set. There are many opportunities for growth and progression at Scotts, together with a wide product catalogue which makes the work very interesting.” Scotts of Thrapston has a reputation for manufacturing high-quality, specialist timber products including summerhouses, stables, pavilions, timber doors, windows, bespoke joinery, roof trusses and education buildings. Elvis finished a civil engineering degree in Albania before studying Autodesk Revit, a building information modelling software for architects, at Derby University after having worked as a design technician in roof trusses. He said: “I am delighted to join the Scotts’ team. The company has been going for nearly 100 years which shows me they are a serious, successful company and I trust them and see them as family. I can see they offer great opportunities to progress and do the maximum I can every day.” Joe, who went to Huxlow Science College, studied a Level 3 Business Admin apprenticeship with a timber manufacturing company before being promoted to floor joist designer. After four years, he moved on to a roofing company as a surveyor before progressing into project management. He said: “I was attracted to work for Scotts of Thrapston because of their wide product range and the extensive audience, so that the work is very varied. Everyone has been very welcoming, and I am looking forward to progressing within my role.”
