Sunderland retail park welcomes £1m enhancement for Wren Kitchens showroom

Wren Kitchens has invested £1m in transforming its kitchen showroom at Sunderland’s Trimdon Street retail park.

The UK kitchen retailer has created 25 new jobs for the city, including managerial, design and surveying roles, at the new 15,000 sq ft showroom, which is now open.

The newly divided B&Q building encompasses over 40 individual kitchens on display with various styles available.

Wren Kitchens’ general showroom manager, Marc Winter, is preparing to take the reins at the new showroom in Sunderland.

He said: “It’s taken three months to completely transform the building to Wren’s famously high standards and the substantial amount we’ve invested demonstrates our commitment to the local area.”

This will be the 81st showroom opened by Wren Kitchens since its launch a decade ago in 2009, while further recent openings include stores in Exeter and Tamworth.

Wren manufactures more than 2,000 kitchens a week at three production facilities in North Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.

The Mayor of Sunderland, Cllr David Snowdon, added: “As Mayor, it is important to provide civic support to the business community, who play such a vital role in our economic future.

“This investment by Wren Kitchens is great news bringing new jobs and more shoppers into the local area, and I hope the new showroom is a huge success.”
