Conexus Healthcare Moves From Strength To Strength, Welcoming New Directors And Relocating To Larger Premises

From concept, to inception, to success, Wakefield’s award-winning GP group of surgeries has established a foothold at the forefront of primary care for the region and beyond, announcing four new directors and brand new premises this August.

Launching in 2017, Conexus Healthcare has been passionate about the delivery of primary care at scale for local people, quickly seeing success and growth which has resulted in the expansion to brand new premises. Keen to remain in the heart of the communities they serve, Conexus has selected Sandal Castle Medical Practice as their new home.

Having grown from 3 to 15 members of staff, Conexus has also announced four new directors, set to join the board this month. The move will see the appointment of two Nurse Directors and two Practice Manager Directors, to help support the continued success of the confederation.

With a proven track record of improved primary care services across Wakefield, Conexus Healthcare has delivered on an innovative vision of demonstrating what can be achieved when surgeries work together to adopt forward thinking models of care, designed specifically to improve patient experience and health outcomes.

Supporting the continued development of primary care services, Conexus have also established a multi award-winning training arm, which provides exceptional levels of professional training in specialisms such as ‘care navigation’ and social prescribing across the UK.

In addition to improving patient care beyond Wakefield itself, the training arm provides an additional revenue stream which is then reinvested back into patient care and general practice within the Wakefield district.

Conexus Healthcare Managing Director, Antony Nelson commented: “We’re incredibly proud of what Conexus has achieved in bringing enhanced primary care to Wakefield. Our greatest asset is our people and despite being a small team, we have achieved beyond all expectation. Our growth and expansion will now allow us to continue to improve the services we deliver, to the benefit of all Wakefield residents. “
