Specialist family law firm Jones Myers has further boosted the expertise of its children’s department.

Solicitor Laura Walsh has amassed over 13 years of experience in private and public children law matters which includes representing parents, children and family members in public law proceedings brought by local authorities.

Laura is a member of the Law Society’s Children Law and Family Law Advanced accreditation scheme.

Headed by Kate Banerjee - who has Higher Court Rights and is a member of the International Child Abduction and Custody Unit - the nine-strong children’s team jointly combines over eight decades of expertise.

Leading training provider, The Skills Network (TSN), announces two key appointments to its Executive Leadership Team, appointing James Earl as its new Executive Sales Director, and Mark Flannery as Executive Marketing Director.

TSN, a Selby-based training provider specialising in online distance learning qualifications and learning technology, has bolstered its ambitious growth plans by announcing two new managerial appointments as it looks to continue its expansion across the 2019/20 financial year.

James Earl, TSN

James Earl has been appointed as TSN’s new executive sales director.

James joined TSN in 2012 and has been indispensable in TSN’s trajectory over the last seven years, previously holding positions as TSN’s commercial director, director of education sales, and director of communications and business development.

James will now oversee TSN’s learning resource sales, technology sales, contract wins, corporate account management, and sub-contracting partnerships with over 40 further education (FE) colleges.

He added: “It’s a really proud moment for me to be taking on the role of Executive Sales Director, having started with the organisation over seven years ago.

“We’ve built a solid team of a few people to over 200 full-time employees and continue to strive for growth year on year, helping organisations across the globe with learning solutions.

“The future looks extremely exciting for anyone involved with TSN. I believe we have now set the foundations with our new structure to grow to the next level and make an even larger impact across the learning and development industry.”

Kate Skelton, Banner Jones Solicitors

Banner Jones Solicitors has appointed a new member to the senior management team with the promotion of residential property expert Kate Skelton.

Kate - who previously worked as a team leader in the companies Chesterfield office - will now take on the position of director and Head of the Sheffield Residential Property Department.

She will be responsible for manging the Sheffield Residential Property team and will continue to help provide high-quality services to the firm’s clients.

Sophie Balfour, Keebles LLP

Law firm Keebles LLP has appointed Sophie Balfour as a new member of its Doncaster-based private client team.

Sophie joins the firm as a paralegal working closely with associate Louise Rudkin. With three years of experience working in a private client department, Sophie brings to the firm her experience in wills and powers of attorney.

She said: “I am excited to join Keebles at a time of expansion for the Private Client team. I admire how the firm really listens to clients, provides high-quality advice which is tailored to each individual and takes the time to get to know the people they work with.”

Tom Wright, Victoria Harris and John Jarman, Knight Frank

Property consultancy Knight Frank has strengthened its Yorkshire team by hiring three graduate surveyors.

Tom Wright and Victoria Harris have joined the Leeds office of Knight Frank from Northumbria University, while John Jarman has joined the Sheffield office from Sheffield Hallam University.

Henrie Westlake, partner and head of Knight Frank in Yorkshire, commented: “We are fortunate this year to have three exceptional people join us in Yorkshire as graduates.

“Interestingly, all three worked with us during the placement year of their degrees and requested to continue to work part-time in their final year.

Victoria is working with the investment team in Leeds, helping with projects such as the sale of 1 City Square, 1 City Walk in Leeds and Paradigm at Thorpe Park.

Meanwhile, Tom has experience in all aspects of building surveying; in particular project management, dilapidations and professional survey work.

John is working with the industrial property team in Sheffield, where he is responsible for various instructions while also assisting colleagues in many developments.
