Buoyant Alnwick Economy Boosts Property Sales For Sanderson Young

Sanderson Young’s flagship Alnwick office is set to reach a record turnover by the end of the year, positioning itself as a dominant player in Northumberland’s property market.

Since relocating to its new branch at 35 Bondgate Without, interest from buyers and private vendors has markedly increased.

The office boasts a large triple window frontage that gives the independent North East estate agent one of the best window displays in Alnwick to market properties. The display has recently seen further improvement with the installation of an interactive TV screen and monitor which showcases the office’s finest homes. Coupled with a bustling local economy, property lets and sales have increased.

Duncan Young, Chairman of Sanderson Young, said: “Projected turnover for our Alnwick branch is 25% higher than it was at this time last year. This is because instructions to sell or let have shot up by 200% and sales have risen by 161%.

“Alnwick’s appeal is unique and it’s fast becoming a hot spot for local, independent businesses that’s attracting more and more people to the town, who want to live there as well as business owners who are keen to set up shop.

“It’s a bustling town with a glorious backdrop of magnificent castle scenery, with The Alnwick Garden nearby. There’s no doubt it’s becoming one of the most popular locations in Northumberland to buy a home.”

Moving into the newly refurbished office has been pivotal to Sanderson Young’s strong foothold in Alnwick. To meet and manage the increased demand, the agent has appointed a new senior negotiator and sales progression assistant; Lizzie Beattie.

Based at the Alnwick branch, Lizzie is mainly responsible for bringing sales agreed through to exchange and completion of their contracts in the quickest time possible, with the least amount of problems occurring through the stages of mortgages being granted, surveys being arranged, and enquiries completed by solicitors.

Duncan added: “There’s a demand out there for good quality homes, to let or buy, and we’re focused on helping our clients to meet their goals, whether that’s to help sell a client’s property investment or support a buyer in securing their dream home in Alnwick.

“We’re enjoying being involved in various new homes developments, selling and buying properties for a wide range of people from young professionals to growing families and retirees. The future looks promising.”
