Nicholson Nairn Architects (NNA), which is headquartered Whickham near Gateshead, is growing its presence in the Yorkshire region with a new base.
The firm, which was founded in 1991 by Tony Nicholson and Garfield Nairn, is looking to capitalise on its growth in the region after securing of a range of contracts in the care and property sectors.
Specialising in high-end residential and multi-million pound commercial projects, the firm is currently working on developments such as large care homes, a leisure complex and volume housing developments.
NNA managing director Chris Barr explained: “The Yorkshire studio is key to the continued strategic growth of the business and its future plans.
Newly-appointed associate Gary Wilson, who originally trained and worked as an architect with NNA before moving to practice in Leeds and North Yorkshire, will lead the new studio.
Chris continued: “Gary is an experienced and talented architect with drive and ambition aligned to Nicholson Nairn’s ethos. His excellent local knowledge and reputation are also important in establishing the new studio.
