Miller Homes reveals upcoming Teesside branch and H1 results for 2019
Millers Homes has revealed its interim results for the six months to June 30, 2019.
This follows on from the recent news that the company is launching a new branch in Teesside, forming part of its strategy to continue its UK geographic growth.
The one North East office is currently in North Shields, with 196 employees in the region. £5m has recently been invested in new land, which has provided 78 local homes.
Chris Endsor, Miller Homes’ chief executive, said: “Miller Homes has again achieved significant levels of growth, with volumes up 13 per cent and operating profit 10 per cent ahead in the first half of 2019.
“To have delivered an operating margin of 20 per cent demonstrates the resilience of our regional markets and the group’s disciplined approach to land buying and cost control.
“Customer demand has remained strong set against a backdrop of competitive mortgage rates but just as importantly an overwhelming need for many of our customers to acquire a new home.”
Miller Homes has also acquired 12 sites at a cost of £94m. Its new Teesside region will be launched in the second half of 2019, becoming fully operational from the start of 2020.
Since the beginning of the year, new developments have opened in the likes of Hazlerigg (Oakwood Grange), Sunderland (Potters Hill) and Hurworth-on-Tees (Hurworth Hall Farm).
