Orbit's Lyme Green & Business Park hosts new Home Bargains store
Orbit Developments has welcomed Home Bargains into its Lyme Green Retail & Business Park in Macclesfield, delivering a first for the retailer and a welcome boost for jobs in the area.
Home Bargains, one of the UK’s largest family run retailers, and Orbit, have invested over £1m in the new store between them which was officially opened Saturday 17th August and will create up to 40 new jobs in the community.
The company’s first store in Macclesfield will join over 500 outlets across the UK which attract more than five million customers every week. The ambitious discount retailer is currently opening around 50 stores a year, bucking industry trends.
Joe Morris, Operations Director at Home Bargains, said: “We’re thrilled to be launching our first store in Macclesfield and look forward to welcoming customers through the doors.”
The 26,000 sq ft former Homebase store, which is adjacent to Bensons for Beds, Poundstretcher, Currys, Matalan and Next, will offer shoppers a range of products, including homewares, health and beauty essentials, sweets, snacks and drinks, as well as fresh and frozen food.
Joe added: “Lyme Green Retail Park will be a great location for us and we’re proud to be able to offer local people top-branded goods at exceptionally low prices.”
Mark Hanna, Senior Retail Leasing Surveyor at Orbit Developments, said Lyme Green was the perfect spot for Home Bargains. He commented: “We worked closely with their management team to support them in their drive to open a store here in Macclesfield and it’s great to see it all come to fruition. They join a cluster of other successful retail brands at Lyme Green who have all helped establish the Park as a great destination for local shoppers. The popular Home Bargains name is sure to add further footfall to the benefit of everyone at Lyme Green. We wish them well.”
