York office space secures latest tenant following £750k revamp
An office building on the outskirts of York has welcomed its latest new tenant after undergoing a £750k refurbishment.
Food, pharma and environmental laboratory testing firm Eurofins has taken a a 3,000 sq ft unit in Arabesque House at Monks Cross on the outskirts of the city.
The firm joins existing tenants TCS John Huxley, Drivespeed Limited, the DVSA and Anytime Fitness at the newly-refurbished building, which is owned by property development company Helmsley Group.
Commenting on the redevelopment, Susie Cawood, head of York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “As a well-established Yorkshire business headquartered in York, Helmsley Group has a comprehensive understanding of the regional office market and a positive reputation for investing in, developing and owning quality commercial property.
“Through Arabesque House and other commercial property across its portfolio, Helmsley Group is not only investing in Yorkshire’s economy for the long -term, but is satisfying the high demand for quality office space in the York area, further enhancing the city as a first-class location to do business.”
Tom Sykes, asset manager at Helmsley Group, added: “As a city centre with many historic buildings, and much of the available space being turned into much needed housing, high-quality, modern office space [in York] is scarce.”
“We’re pleased to be able to offer businesses sought-after space at our Monks Cross site.”
