Taylor&Emmet scores hattrick of sports sponsorship
Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP is showing its support for grassroots sports, providing financial backing to three small groups making a big impact in their local communities.
The solicitors are sponsoring a trio of organisations that offer Sheffield and Derbyshire residents somewhere to enjoy running, cricket and boxing.
Taylor&Emmet has confirmed it will continue to act as main sponsor for the 2020 Dronfield 10K and Fun Run, after supporting the event for the past two years. In April, a 15-strong team took part in the 2019 race, joining thousands of local runners from across the region.
To further strengthen its links in the Dronfield community, Taylor&Emmet is lending its support to Coal Aston Cricket Club, which fields adult and junior sides, welcoming children from nine years old. The firm has also made a donation to Titans Boxing Gym in Gleadless that will be used to buy new equipment. Run by former professional boxer, John ‘Fireball’ Fewkes, the facility helps disadvantaged adults and youngsters learn more about the sport.
Nichola Barnes, head of the probate team at Taylor&Emmet’s Dronfield office and keen sportswoman, said: “My colleagues and I enjoy a wide variety of sports in our spare time and know just how important access to grassroots organisations are to the communities they serve. Most are managed by volunteers and rely heavily on local businesses to fund their activities. It is these same communities who use our high street offices and by supporting this cross-section of groups, we hope to show our appreciation.”
