25 food firms set to join historic London market with communal dining space launch
A historic market in south London is set to welcome 25 food traders with the opening of a new communal dining space.
Borough Market in Southwark is set to launch its new communal dining area The Borough Market Kitchen next month.
Housed in Jubilee Place, the new food venue will be joined by the likes of artisan pasta specialist La Tua Pasta, vegetarian Indian street food vendor Horn OK, Chinese concept Mei Mei and Basque tapas offering Pintxos from Mimo London.
Dating back to the 12th century, Borough Market has experienced a resurgence since its since its rebirth as a public market in 1998.
Darren Henaghan, Borough Market’s managing director, commented: “Borough Market has a proud heritage stretching back over 1,000 years, and the 21st anniversary of our opening to the public marks a modern coming of age for both the market and its traders.
“The Borough Market Kitchen will be a new space for London to come and eat together, a community hub for the market, showcasing the incredible diversity of our produce and bringing together some of our market pioneers with exciting new traders.”
