Mincoffs acts on new home for independent Washington salon devastated by fire

Daccs Salon has found a new home in Washington after former premises were devastated by fire.

The salon, owned by Diane and Chris Irwin, has been providing hair and beauty treatments in Washington for almost 30 years.

When the former home at Kielder House on Emmerson Terrace in Washington was ravaged by fire, Daccs began their search for a new premises. And when the Sandpiper pub in Biddick closed down, the Irwins saw an opportunity to redevelop the site as a salon.

The owners have spent four months tranforming the building with the help of Simon Bartlett of Simon Bartlett Interiors.

The new salon maximises on the gin trend with a licensed gin bar on site, alongside brand new treatment rooms, and outdoor facilities for al fresco treatments in the summer.

Mincoffs Solicitors, headed by Matt Foster, advised Diane and Chris on the application for a premises licence, paving the way for the successful redevelopment of the former Sandpiper site.

Diane added: “We are so grateful for our clients for standing by us following the fire and we are thrilled to be able to offer them an absolutely beautiful salon experience.

“We would like to thank Matt and the team at Mincoffs for their expert advice in helping us apply for a premises licence and change of use licence in order for us to convert the pub into a salon.”
