U-telecom on track to double turnover amidst ‘most successful year to date’

**Strong quarter predicted for Sheffield telecoms company amidst increased demand **

A Sheffield-based business telecoms and broadband provider has revealed it is on track to double its turnover in 2019 compared to the previous year amidst an ‘unprecedented’ increase in demand for its services.

Based on the prestigious Sheffield Business Park (SBP) U-telecoms specialises in modern business telecoms and broadband solutions that allow businesses across the Sheffield City Region and Nationwide to communicate more effectively and economically.

The rapidly expanding business, which was established in 2015 by co-founders and entrepreneurs Liam Parnell, Ryan Birkwood and Ben Maton, has quadrupled its headcount over the past two years – taking on larger offices in Sheffield Business Centre in order to accommodate its growing team.

The move resulted in further new business wins from neighbouring organisations, prompting them to announce plans of further growth in its technical engineering and customer support teams, to ensure they continue to provide the best level of service throughout its expansion.

The firm is also focussed on developing its operations and are investing heavily in new customer relations management (CRM) software, a new website, and a custom developed app which will allow them to better serve existing and new clients alike.

Sales Director at U-Telecom Liam Parnell said: “U-telecom has expanded rapidly over the last couple of years, both in terms of team members and turnover. Our next quarter is expected to be record breaking, with sales confirmed already up by over 90% compared to the same period in 2018.

“Due to technical advances, national fibre network upgrades, and the news that BT will be terminating ISDN telephone lines imminently, every UK business is having to consider their options.

“We are providing businesses the opportunity to upgrade and future proof their communications whilst reducing their costs; combining this with our fantastic support, you can see why 98% of our customers choose to recommend us.

“Moving to the Sheffield Business Centre last year has opened many doors for us given its location, and the excellent business network that exists within it, and we’re delighted to be working with a number of companies which are situated right alongside us.”

Home to the UK’s first state-of-the-art manufacturing facility Factory 2050 and the newly completed Boeing Factory earlier this year SBP announced that it had received approval for a Phase 4 at the site.

This development will transform an 18 Acre plot of land between Europa Link and the A630 dual carriageway in Rotherham in order to create a prominent business gateway to the wider Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District (AMID).

Already home to over 2,000 workers in the region, the business park’s iconic former control tower recently underwent renovations and now provides an additional space for potential tenants.

Commenting on U-telecoms success Sheffield Business Park manager Dawn Kennedy-Burns, said: “U-telecom is a perfect example of an entrepreneurial start-up taking advantage of what the Sheffield City Region has to offer from a networking and connectivity perspective.

“The team’s hard work and dedication to what they do is testament to their success to date, and we are delighted that they have benefited from the true sense of community that has developed amongst the businesses based at the business park.

“I hope the latest ‘Phase 4’ plans will see the success of the site continue; encouraging many more start-ups and more established companies to consider Sheffield as a location.”
