Manchester-based, Wax Digital helps food processing company, JBS USA optimise supplier negotiations

Wax Digital, a leading integrated Source to Pay provider, today announced that JBS USA has selected its web3 suite of electronic procurement software to drive savings, compliance and efficiency across its supplier negotiation and contracting processes.

Headquartered in Greeley, Colo., JBS USA is a leading global provider of diversified, high-quality food products. Employing more than 100,000 people, the company includes 63 production facilities, 31 prepared foods facilities, four live hog operations and eight transportation terminals with operations in 28 U.S. states, Canada, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Wax Digital has been the eSourcing and Contract Management solution of choice for the company’s Irish subsidiary Moy Park – the largest meat producer in Northern Ireland – for the past five years. The adoption of the solution by JBS USA now takes the user community across the United States and Australia as well.

Despite the size of operations in those territories, JBS USA had no electronic solutions in place to manage supplier negotiations and contracts but became increasingly impressed with the results that the Moy Park team had consistently demonstrated through the use of web3.

“We’ve been watching as our colleagues in Northern Ireland revolutionised their sourcing and contracts processes through technology and were keen to follow suit,” said Justin Timm, Procurement Process & Systems Lead at JBS USA.

“We know there is huge potential in the U.S. market to improve results and increase savings through electronic tenders and auctions, not to mention the enhanced audit controls we get with a system like web3.”

Wax Digital web3 Source to Contract, including electronic tendering, auctions and contract lifecycle management, will help JBS USA run more events with more suppliers across more categories – ultimately meaning more savings.

Additionally, migrating hundreds of contracts into the web3 Contract Management module ensures secure, controlled access and automated management of alerts against key contract milestones.

With a full Source to Pay suite built on a single code base, customers like JBS USA can rely on web3 should their needs extend into other areas in the future, from supplier relationship management to eInvoicing.

“We’re delighted a great relationship with Moy Park, that has seen some excellent results through their use of web3, has resulted in another expansion internationally for our client base as JBS USA also takes on the solution,” said Paul Ellis, chief executive officer at Wax Digital. “We are excited to work with the U.S. and Australian teams to help them transform their processes and drive significant value for the whole business.”
