Engineering firm expands into neighbouring factory to accommodate renewables growth
An engineering firm has expanded into a factory near its North East base as it grows its renewable energy business.
Rosh Engineering Ltd has acquired an adjoining factory next to its existing premises in Gateshead as part of its ongoing growth.
Established in 1981, Rosh Engineering has experienced a period of growth in line with the rise of renewable energy, securing contracts for Power Transformer repair and refurbishment with a number of UK electricity distribution companies including Northern Power Grid, as well as large industrial consumers of power across oil & gas and process industries.
The additional floor space of the firm’s premises will double the capacity of transformers being refurbished.
Ian Dormer, Rosh Engineering’s managing director, commented: “We fully understand that if we can improve our customer’s efficiency and performance then there will be an increased use of Rosh Engineering’s services.”
Rosh Engineering was supported by Gateshead Council in its acquisition of the 600 sq m factory.
Ian continued: “Throughout all our expansion, Gateshead Council has shown terrific support and encouragement so we are pleased we can establish deeper roots in the borough with our new purchase.”
Andrew Tate, enterprise and industry manager at Gateshead Council, added: “Rosh’s success demonstrates Ian and his team’s ongoing commitment and investment in its facility here in Gateshead.
“Gateshead Council is committed to supporting local business and fostering an environment in which businesses can thrive. It’s more important than ever that the Council supports locally owned companies like Rosh Engineering.”
