SSK Recruitment opens Seaham office

SSK Recruitment is a global recruiter with offices in the UK, the Netherlands and Iraq. It has recently opened an office in Seaham which will now be the company’s new UK head office.

Speaking about the new office move is SSK Recruitment’s managing director, Adam Smith. Read on below about Adam’s thoughts on his company’s recent successes.

“We recently opened a new head office in Seaham, which is my hometown, so it makes me immensely proud that we can continue to grow SSK here in Seaham.

“We are perfectly situated just off the A19 at Byron House so it has excellent links to all the major routes, making life a lot easier for client visits and travelling etc.

“We brought in Russell Pomfret as operations director to the Middle East and Europe. Russell brings with him 20+ years of experience in the oil and gas sector, so it was a major coupe for us to bring in Russell who is also an Iraq resident and spends his time between our Iraq and UK offices.

“We also brought in Callum Hodgson who is our business admin and social media apprentice. Callum has revamped all our social media and has really slotted into the team so we couldn’t be happier with his development so far.

“We believe in the youth of today and we are looking at adding further apprentices in 2020 which is shaping up to be another exciting year for us.

“We have taken on new staff for our Iraq office recently and myself and Bradley Saunders (director) were in our Holland office last week interviewing candidates there.

“We have had a few setbacks setting up in Holland with red tape, but things are starting to move for us now and it’s such an exciting market to be involved in. I recently took part in The Northern Powerhouse Trade Mission with our Department of International Trade to the Netherlands, and it was very interesting to see how Brexit will affect trade there , one of the reasons we set up in Holland as a separate entity.

“We became an associate partner of Sunderland Football Club as we look to brand SSK here in the North East with most of our contracts being in Europe and the Middle East. It has been excellent [to market] and companies here in the North East are really taking notice of what we are doing now and the services we offer.

“In 2020 we are really looking at pushing SSK to the next level and to continue to strengthen our internal teams. We are also looking at an office in Texas as a client we have in Iraq also has a strong presence out there, so it’s a very exciting time for consultants in our sector to join SSK.”
