Canary Wharf’s first build-to-rent development unveiled
The first build-to-rent development in London’s Canary Wharf has been revealed.
Canary Wharf Group’s new rental division Vertus has unveiled the development at 10 George Street in new district Wood Wharf.
The 37-storey building, designed by GRID Architects, comprises 327 units ranging from studios to three-bed apartments.
In addition, the site features 6,000 sq ft of social spaces including lounge, garden terrace, event space, bar area and private gym for residents.
The Wood Wharf development is expected to house up to 3,600 new homes, 350,000 sq ft of retail space and eight acres of public spaces once it is complete.
Alastair Mullens, head of Vertus, commented: “The apartments at 10 George Street are set to raise the standards of build-to-rent in London.
“As a new residential landlord for Canary Wharf, Vertus will provide a fantastic experience for those who rent with Vertus, with varied facilities, an exciting events programme and 24/7 concierge, all this without the commitment of buying.
“We expect to see a strong demand for these apartments once they launch in 2020.”
