Transatlantic tech firm set for success following Sunderland move
A firm specialising in AI-powered business reporting and forecasting has created a number of jobs since moving to its new North East base.
ProForecast, which also has an office in Mexico, has experienced a period of growth since moving to its new Sunderland head office.
Founded two years ago by businessman Steven Katirai, ProForecast relocated to Sunderland Software Centre to coincide with the official launch of its product and its recent rebrand.
The platform uses cloud-based software that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to support business strategy and forward planning, providing predictions and reports that enable users to make decisions about future growth plans.
ProForecast founder Steven Katirai commented: “The move to Sunderland Software Centre has also played a huge role in launching ProForecast and ensuring we have everything we need to make it a success.
“We are developing a cloud-based system, so great connectivity is a must and by being based here, we have one of the best connections around.
“Being so central to the city, it also has great transport links and it’s great for meeting clients, everyone loves it when they visit. I think anyone contemplating starting a tech business in the area should look here first. For me, it should be the first place they visit.”
Cllr Graeme Miller, leader of Sunderland City Council, added: “Sunderland Software Centre was established to become a breeding ground for fast-growing digital technology businesses and it’s fantastic to see it becoming just that.
“ProForecast has already created a number of highly-skilled jobs and has positioned itself as a real innovator in its field.
“We look forward to seeing what the future holds for the company as it continues to go from strength-to-strength.”
