Canning Town set for £55.5m build-to-rent development
A new project to deliver 132 build-to-rent properties in London’s Canning Town has been announced.
Private rented sector specialist Grainger plc has agreed to forward fund the £55.5m scheme at Hallsville Quarter.
Developed by Linkcity with Bouygues UK appointed as building contractor, the scheme will also include around 11,000 sq ft of commercial space in addition to the rental homes.
The development is Grainger’s third project in Canning Town, 100 metres from its site Argo Apartments and adjacent to its second development in Hallsville Quarter.
Helen Gordon, chief executive of Grainger, commented: “We are pleased to further strengthen our London presence with this acquisition, which will deliver 132 high quality homes for rent in one of our top target cities.
“The Canning Town area is undergoing significant regeneration, and we know from our experience with Argo Apartments that this is a very popular location to live, with such great access to the wider city.
“Upon completion of this project, Grainger’s east London cluster will comprise 748 purpose-built homes, providing scale and operational efficiencies.”
