Bristol Street Motors Durham dealership gives local food bank support the green light

Bristol Street Motors Durham Ford has set up a collection point for donations to offer much needed support to County Durham Foodbank. The car dealership, based on High Street, Durham, has placed a stickered car inside the showroom and is inviting members of the public to drop off items to help the food bank, run by Durham Christian Partnership. In addition to the stickered car, the motor retailer has kick-started its charitable support with a £250 food donation to demonstrate its commitment to County Durham Foodbank. The stickered car will be situated in the dealership from December 2019 and will be doing drop-offs to the food bank to support them through the colder months, which are often the most difficult time of the year for those relying on their local food bank. Chris Stewart, general manager at Bristol Street Motors Durham Ford, said: “I’m really pleased we are able to support such an important local cause. The work Country Durham Foodbank does is invaluable and as members of the community, we should be doing everything we can to support them. “Anyone is welcome to pop into our dealership and bring their donations, we want to donate as much as we possibly can!” Peter MacLellan, CEO at Durham Foodbank, said: “We massively appreciate all support we receive from the local community and the help from Bristol Street Motors Durham Ford will make a huge difference to us. “Food banks rely solely on donations from the public and we can’t thank people enough for getting involved, we can’t wait to receive the donations!”
