Bunzl expands US footprint with latest acquisition
International distribution and services group Bunzl is set to increase its global footprint after acquiring a business in the US.
The London-headquartered firm has acquired Joshen Paper & Packaging, which is based in Cleveland, Ohio, for an undisclosed sum.
Operating from locations across 11 states, Joshen Paper & Packaging specialises in the distribution of packaging and other goods in the grocery sector.
The news of the acquisition follows a strong year for the firm, which in the first half of 2019 reported a 2.7 per cent increase in pre-tax profit.
Commenting on the acquisition, Frank van Zanten, Chief Executive Officer of Bunzl, said: “The purchase of Joshen has increased our presence in the grocery sector and further enhanced our operations in the US.
He added: “We are pleased to welcome their employees to Bunzl.”
