Revised plans for central York hotel submitted as part of "renaissance of Micklegate"
Plans for a new hotel in the centre of York have been resubmitted after being amended to complement its historic surroundings.
Local developer North Star put forward plans last year for a new hotel at the Minster Van Hire, former Jinnah Restaurant and Bar 127 buildings in the heart of the city.
However following feedback from City of York Council, local residents and stakeholders, the developer has revised the plans.
The proposed development will now comprise 65 rooms instead of the original 145, the planned basements have been scrapped and the design of the building will be more in keeping with nearby architecture.
A spokesperson for North Star, commented: “We have listened to feedback and have significantly altered the plans as a result.
“The application is for a high quality development to replace detractor buildings on this magnificent street. We feel that these proposals will continue the renaissance of Micklegate.”
Planning permission will be decided by the council in the coming months.
