Historic site of former Gateshead social club to be transformed into residential scheme

A vacant brownfield site in the North East is set to become home to a new residential development.

Independent local developer Greenway Homes have unveiled their plans for the derelict site of the former Blaydon Social Club in Gateshead.

The new development, known as Garden Mews, will comprise seven apartments, three mews houses and 12 three-storey townhouses.

The redevelopment of the area will also include the renovation of Blaydon House, which dates back to 1819 and will be converted into three further family homes.

Sanderson Young has been appointed as selling agents for the scheme. Amy Brice, regional surveyor for the firm, commented: “We are delighted to be assisting Greenway Homes in the delivery of this exciting development, following on from the fantastic success we saw at Hallgarth Mews in Winlaton.
