Philip Tansley, Shoosmiths

UK law firm Shoosmiths has appointed Philip Tansley, an expert in cyber incident response, as a partner based in their London office.

Philip was previously a partner at Keystone Law and co-founded a multiple award-winning multi-disciplinary incident response service.

Philip commented: “I am delighted to be joining Shoosmiths.

“The firm has a great data protection and privacy team, fantastic clients and a very genuine culture.

“Most importantly for me, it also has a clear strategic vision to invest in this important and rapidly evolving area.”

Axel Meier, MDOTM

Fintech company MDOTM has appointed Axel Maier as its new global business development strategist.

Axel, who will be based in London, has 24 years of experience in the asset management industry.

He said: “MDOTM brings a new perspective and drive to the asset management market.

“It makes AI understandable and makes the usual “black box” transparent for its clients.

“The creative energy and dedication of the team is captivating and I look forward to helping channeling this to the benefits of our clients.”

Charlie Olpin, Creative BTR

Interior design company Lucarna Design has announced the launch of its new ‘Build to Rent’ organisation, Creative BTR, and the appointment of its managing director, Charlie Olpin.

Charlie was previously working for BoxNine7, a design services firm which is part of the wider Accouter Group.

He commented: “Our appointment by one of London’s biggest developers is evidence that we are already a force to be reckoned with and our core values and track record established by Lucarna puts us in an exciting position.

“I’m personally excited to get on board with what is a very specialised and unique company that has at its roots a vastly experienced and in-depth understanding of the residential sector.”

Martyn Sheridan, eEnergy

Energy services company eEnergy has appointed Martyn Sheridan as its new sales director.

Martyn was previously head of national sales for E.ON’s Energy Solutions Division, and worked across the Large Industrial & Commercial supply area for major corporate clients including Virgin Media, Lucozade and DS Smith.

“As such, we are delighted Martyn has joined us. He has managed, grown and developed sales teams, and comes with over 20 years of sales leadership experience.

Jurgen Post, Miniclip

Gaming company Miniclip has announced that its new CEO is Jurgen Post, as previous CEO Rob Small changes position to president of the board.

Jurgen has served in multiple senior positions across the gaming industry, with a specialization in global entertainment brands, having worked previously at Sony Pictures, PlayStation, Sony Music, SEGA and Tencent.

Jurgen said: “I am delighted to take the helm from Rob and looking forward to progressing Miniclip’s purpose of ‘unleashing the gamer in everyone’ by working with Miniclip’s hugely talented management team and employees around the world.”

Arvind Krishna, IBM

Information technology company IBM has named Arvind Krishna as its new CEO.

Nicholas McQuire, senior vice president of enterprise research at CCS Insights, commented: “On the bottom line, putting Arvind Krishna at the helm of IBM is a good move.

“It is a reassuring play for existing customers since Krishna combines IBM knowhow and brings to the table an understanding of the key technologies, cloud, opensource and Red Hat and the emerging technologies that will differentiate IBM in its next chapter, such as quantum computing, AI and Blockchain.”
