Mo Dixon, Tyne Coast College

Tyne Coast College has appointed Mo Dixon as principal.

She will move from New College Durham where she has been Vice Principal since 2015.

Dr Lindsey Whiterod CBE, chief executive of Tyne Coast College, of which TyneMet is part said; “We are delighted to welcome Mo as TyneMet Principal.

“Her vast experience and industry knowledge will support our drive to provide outstanding educational opportunities across the North East.”

Gemma Sayers, Skills Consultants

Skills Consultants has appointed Gemma Sayers in a new role based at Ignite Gas Training.

Gemma, has joined the North Tyneside firm after previously managing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) projects as well as leading on skills and education in the digital sector.

She also has extensive experience in Corporate Social Responsibility and diversity and gender matters.

Director Brett Garrick said: “Our business is growing exponentially every year and Gemma will help to provide additional support to make sure our that our learners and apprentices get the very best experience possible.

“We’re delighted that she has joined us as her skills will complement those we already offer to our learners.”

Paul Lilley, Green Energy Advice Bureau

The Green Energy Advice Bureau has announced that it has appointed Paul Lilley as their first financial director.

Former finance director at The Noble Organization, Paul brings a wealth of knowledge and served on the board of big brands such as Burger & Lobster, Pink Boutique and Drake & Morgan.

Green Energy Advice Bureau founder and CEO, Paul Cobb, commented: “I am delighted that Paul Lilley will be joining us as group finance director.

“Paul’s incredibly strong knowledge and experience will be vital as we continue our ambitious plans to grow and develop the business internally.”

Gary Lumby MBE, Yellow Box Marketing

Yellow Box Marketing has announced the appointment of Gary Lumby MBE as non executive director.

Gary holds the same role at significant number of SMEs across the North East, Yorkshire and London, and was awarded with an MBE for his services to the financial sector in 2008.

Gary commented: “I have known and been impressed by Brad [managing director] for some time and have been following the company’s progress, so when the opportunity came to work with Brad and the team I was delighted to accept.

“I look forward to helping Yellow Box Marketing continue its amazing growth journey, which is a testament to its high quality of service, delivery and talented employees.”

Sarah Slaven, Business Durham

Business Durham has announced the appointment of Sarah Slaven as interim managing director.

Sarah was part of the management team that established Business Durham in 2012 and held the post of Operations Director until taking on her current position.

In her previous role, Sarah had responsibility for leading Business Durham’s business engagement, inward investment and enterprise activities.

Sarah commented: “I’m proud to be given the opportunity to lead and build on the great work that Business Durham is already doing to support business growth, create jobs and attract inward investment to Durham.

Ryan Irving-Carr, Bernicia

North East housing association Bernicia Group has announced the appointment of Ryan Irving-Carr as the new head of property.

Ryan has worked for Bernicia for eight years, starting out as an apprentice plumber in 2012. In his new role, Ryan will lead the client property team in developing and delivering the asset management strategy and short term investment plan for Bernicia’s 14,000 properties.

Ryan said: ““I’ve been supported to progress from an apprenticeship into roles as project coordinator, asset investment programme manager and head of property.

“There’s lots of exciting investment and development projects coming up and I can’t wait to get started.”

Michael Farr, executive director of assets and growth, added: “Investing in our people and nurturing in-house talent is how we grow our business and we’re delighted to have Ryan in post as head of property.

“He’s worked extremely hard, continually impressing us with his drive and commitment, and is a great example of someone who has taken the career development opportunities on offer to carve out a successful career in our assets and property division, securing a very well deserved promotion.”

Ash James, Connect Health

Connect Health has announced the appointment of Ash James in the newly created role of national clinical education lead.

With over 10 years’ experience working across a range of MSK settings including within clinical leadership and senior management roles, Ash is currently completing a PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University and is a media spokesperson for the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists.

Ash commented: “I am incredibly excited to start in the role of national clinical education lead for such a forward-thinking and innovative company as Connect Health.

“I am most looking forward to working with its outstanding group of clinicians throughout the UK and it is my goal to provide them with the opportunity to become the best educated group of professionals in the musculoskeletal space.

“I will try to implement a pathway structure that allows for continued, targeted development that is a mix of face to face interaction with peers, patients and senior colleagues along with self-directed learning through the innovative use of technology.

Scott Martin, Karbon Homes

Karbon Homes has appointed Scott Martin as its new Executive Director of Resources.

Scott started his career with KPMG before moving into senior finance and management roles in the housebuilding sector.
