Vegan food delivery firm smashes £2m crowdfunding in one day
A plant-based meal delivery company has exceeded £2m one day after launching on crowdfunding platform Seedrs.
Vegan business allplants has secured multi-million pound investment on the platform, with backing from Octopus Ventures, Felix Capital, and Seek Ventures, as well as the founders of JustGiving and Bulb Energy.
Founded in 2017 by brothers Jonathan (‘JP’) and Alex Petrides, allplants is a subscription-based service, delivering plant-based meals for customers to cook at home.
The new investment will be used to develop new food categories, and follows the launch of the firm’s 20,000 sq ft production kitchen in London.
Jonathan ‘JP’ Petrides, founder and CEO of allplants commented: “We have always wanted to bring our customers and community onboard as we continue to make plant-based living the future.
“Our customers are involved in everything we do, from helping us develop new recipes, to tasting new dishes and returning their packaging for re-use, this was always the natural next step and something we intended to launch from day one. With this investment, we will continue to fuel the plant-based movement.”
Will Gibbs, investment manager at Octopus Ventures, added: “allplants has the potential to build a global brand that accelerates the planet to eating more plants – the customer love, feedback and evangelical praise is testament to the sheer level of quality and energy in this mission-led company.
“We look forward to helping the founders and management team build a category-defining business.”
